May Catch-Up

I took my monthly photo of Ethan for his scrapbook ("Watch Me Grow").

He is now 7 months old

and

weighs 24lbs 11oz

Emma and Ethan are almost identical in size at 7 months.

Emma was 24lbs 9oz

but

I use to weigh her in only a diaper.

I weigh Ethan in his clothes, so it is safe to say they are exactly the same size...

I told you they are clones!!

This overall outfit was from Ethan's Auntie Phyllis & Uncle Wayne.

When Ethan received it at birth, it looked so big.

Not so much anymore (size - 18 months).

All last week Emma came home with Mother's Day projects from school, so I thought they deserved to be taped to the fridge. I love the decorated hands, with "Lee Press-On Nails" and all!!

Although Dann was away for Mother's Day, we had a great time hanging out with my parents, who drove up for the weekend.

Auntie Claudia sent Emma this baking outfit from "Pampered Chef".
This was a good excuse to bake cookies... Raisin & Oatmeal.
Emma put all the ingredients in herself!!

Dad did not skip a beat, getting down on the ground to play with his grandson...
pretty good for a guy who's turning 70 this year!


Grandma & Ethan....

Ethan's gums have been so sore, he has been gnawing & sucking his thumb to ease the pain!
He has no teeth yet, but he does have a very chapped hand.
Ethan's hands got so bad I had to put socks on them after I rubbed them in with cream.
Ethan was not impressed (even though he is smiling in this photo).

Emma's soccer season started the first week of May.

It was freakin' cold the first night, so Emma insisted on wearing her pink hat along with her blue jacket (even soccer is a fashion show).

Lesson #1 - Tools

Dann decided it was time for Ethan to have his first lesson on tools.

The new "Princess Auto Parts" catalog arrived and Dann was reading it to Ethan, who seemed quite interested.

Even Emma wanted to be a part of things, which was very surprising, as her whole world revolves around "Princesses"

(I guess the catalog was from "Princess" Auto, maybe that's why she was interested... hahaha!).

Ethan likes to sit in his "Bum-Bo" chair and play at his activity table.
The things they have for babies now is amazing... very useful and helpful!

Kelowna Trip

Last week we made our way to Kelowna to visit Dann's sister & bro-in-law along with old friends, Jenny & B.

We made several stops along the way (travelling with a 6 month old and a 4 year old) but eventually, we arrived safe and sound!!

Emma was in seventh heaven with her Auntie Phyllis. Most of the time, Emma had Phyl's undivided attention, which made her so happy!

Emma helped make a lasagna with her Auntie... it tasted yummy!


Emma had no problem with Sydney this trip.
Emma liked spending time with Sydney, walking her and cuddling with her!

Ethan did not have much to do with Sydney, but he did use her bathtub (dog sink).

Our visit with Jenny & Branden was great.

Ethan loved Willa's toys and the girls played well together.

We had to remind Emma & Sarina to include Hazel a couple of times, but over all, they all got along!

We all went for a walk on the pathway which was nice.

In this photo the girls look like they have never been apart.

When I watched Emma & Sarina play it brought a tear to my eye because they grew up together (first 3 years) and now they only see each other once a year, if they are lucky.

Ethan enjoyed our play & picnic in the park.

He likes the swing (just like his big sister).

Our visit to the "Eco Centre" was very interesting. There was a water display and the girls enjoyed the water table.

Ethan was hanging out in the play cabin which had toys and books for the kids to use.

It was a great facility!!

Yes, Dann wanted this photo for all the wrong reasons (my hubby's mind is in the gutter most days).

We stopped by the beach for a little park time.

While we were there, Dann spotted some geese with their new babies.

The sign was an added bonus for the photo.

6 Months Old

It is hard to believe Ethan was 6 months old this past week. He is doing very well (a side from not sleeping through the night again!). The doctor said he is very healthy and then said, "get some solids into this boy, so he will start sleeping better". My Dad has been saying this for months, so of course he was saying, "I told you so"... (if my Dad had his way, Ethan would have been eating steak & potatoes shortly after birth...LOL).

Ethan is now 24 lbs and 28 1/4 inches long!

Ethan is starting to stand a bit now.

This is quite the accomplishment considering how much he weighs!

Dann got some running boards for his truck and Emma thought she would model them for her Daddy. Dann thinks they look sexy and Emma likes them because she can get into the truck without any help!

Just think... in 10 more years Emma will be driving her Daddy's truck, just like this photo!

Dann took this photo last night.

There is not a lot of room for Ethan in this tote... good thing it is for Emma's doll clothes.

Dann told Emma to get the lid and she got very defensive and protective of her baby brother.

Ethan tried prunes for the first time yesterday and a side from the messy face, he really likes them!!

You're Up To Date!!

Happy Easter

Although it was quiet around our place this Easter, as Dann had to work and no company visiting, we still managed to do all the traditional "kid" things!

We started by colouring some Easter Eggs.

Dann was not as creative this year, but we still had fun.

Ethan just hung out and watched, while Emma dipped the eggs into all the different dyes.

The Easter Bunny managed to find his way through all the snow and dropped off some goodies for the kids (I think he borrowed Santa's sleigh to get through all the snow we still have).

Emma was thrilled when she woke up Easter Sunday. She ran around the house telling us the Easter Bunny came through the night.


Ethan got a big yellow ducky, which he loves to suck on!

Emma got a big pink bunny and a new Easter dress, along with many chocolates!

Emma had fun hunting for eggs in the basement... she told me that she got the most eggs (I told her that no one else was looking) but she did not really get what I was saying. I told her that in a couple of years, Ethan would be hunting for the eggs too and she would have to share. Emma stated, "that's not for a while yet mom!"

Of course, Emma won the chocolate chicken for finding the most eggs (even if she was playing the game alone...LOL)!

The snow has not stopped Emma from playing outside this winter. She gears up in her winter stuff and is out the door. Although I think her hat is really cute, she likes to spice it up with a princess crown (she's such a girl)!

Emma and her friend Darby spend hours outside swinging and playing in her doll house/cabin (thanks Marg & Bob, Emma still loves playing in that thing).

PEEK-A-BOO

Here's Ethan in his Elton John glasses (we have a similar picture of Emma at the same age sporting the same shades with me).

Emma's preschool made tie-dye shirts. We ordered a child's medium, but the t-shirts ended up being youth sizes, so now Emma's shirt is a dress.

Her class had a tie-dye shirt day, so Emma spiced up her dress with some black tights & boots!

Just another sweet photo of my handsome boy!

Not sure how many of you remember the "Stretch Armstrong" doll from the 80's? Dann loved the thing and got one for Christmas, but of course it sprang a leak and it went in the garbage.

While we were shopping at Wal-Mart one day, Dann came across the new and improved "Mr. Fantastic" for a great deal ($2.00 on sale). He had to buy one for himself and the neighbour's boys!

Emma loves it as much as Dann. She especially loves it when I make the kookie face while we pull Mr. Fantastic from limb-to-limb.

Emma is very excited for soccer season to start May 1st. We bought he some new soccer cleats, so she decided to show off her new "athletic" look.

She cannot wait to get her team jersey (for now, she just wears a ex-large t-shirt).

Maybe Emma will follow in her cousin Jeannette's footsteps?

Time will tell!!
