Soccer Wrap-Up

Emma's last soccer game was last night. All the teams played a mini-tournament which consisted of three 15 minute games back-to-back. By the end, the kids were exhausted. After the games were completed, each player was presented with a gold metal and water bottle, compliments of Tim Hortons!

Emma was thrilled about the gold metal and she is still asking me where we can hang the metal as it needs a SPECIAL place!!

Ethan enjoyed watching the activities and really took a liking to the soccer ball.

You may be wondering about the hat... well I am not crazy. Ethan got an ear infection this past week and I had to take him to emergency on Tuesday night. We actually saw a doctor quite quickly as we were in and out of emergency in 2 hours

(fast for the health care system these days).

The doctor was very good... he even ordered X-Rays on Ethan's lungs. The doc said Ethan's lungs sounded clear, but he was very congested and his cough had quite a "bark" to it thus he just wanted to make sure there was no fluid etc.

In radiology, the techs put Ethan in the device which held his arms above his head so they could get a clear photo of his chest. Ethan hated it, but it was cool to watch. The X-Rays came back clear, so we got a prescription and we were off to the drug store at 11:45 p.m. Luckily the pharmacy stayed open until midnight.

Even with the drugs, Ethan had a horrible night. He slept off and on, up-right in my arms... and no, I did not sleep!! Just another roll of a Mamma
(which was not in the manual when I was thinking about signing up for motherhood... LOL).

Ethan seems to be doing much better and he is sleeping comfortably, which means so am I!!

Dann's mom came for a visit this week. Emma had lots of fun playing with Grandma but I cannot say the same for Ethan. He made strange with her and with the whole ear infection thing, he was not in a good mood. Poor Grandma... I think she only got to hold Ethan once in four days.

The Royal Princess Ball

Last Friday Emma attended a Royal Princess Ball at Princess Maya's house.

All the Princesses were decked out in their finest gowns, and fun was had by all!

Maya's Grandma brought her guitar and performed some sing-songs with the children,

along with story time.

The kids loved her and she was amazing!

Maya's brother "Judah" was dressed up as a prince and he was so handsome!

Ethan has started to clap his hands now and loves to drive (be pushed) around in his Mr. Magoo car.

Beep - Beep!!

Emma got her first bloody nose last week.

She was really brave!

Emma thought she needed a photo to show all the blood on the tissue.

Afterwards, she had to call her grandmas & aunties to tell them about her tragic ordeal.

Spaghetti Anyone??

We gave Ethan Rowena's famous spaghetti & meat sauce for dinner and it was a hit.

He could not shovel the noodles in fast enough (by the fist full).

Ethan will eat anything that is not pureed, so I guess all the jars of baby food that I bought will be donated to the food bank!

Emma still loves to hold her baby brother, although it is getting more difficult due to his size.

Ethan loves the attention Emma gives him and he squeals with excitement every time she is around!

Summer Time

I guess it has been a while since I posted something, because when I down loaded the photos from the camera, I realized that these pics of Emma bowling were taken over the May long weekend.

We took Emma bowling for the first time on Victoria Day, and she loved it. We all had fun whippin' the small ball down the lane. By the second game, Emma was getting a bit tired and I was getting a bit competitive (against Dann).

Anyhoo... highly recommended for all you families out there looking for a fun thing to do with the kiddies!!

I do believe summer has finally hit up our way. We had our doubts after all the snow we en cured, but the temps are in the high 20's, low 30's.

Where does the time go??


We went for a picnic at the local water park today.
We invited Darby to come with us, and the girls had a blast.
The water park is a far cry from the ones we went to in Kelowna with Sarina & Hazel, but we made the most of it!
It was 35'C today, so the cold water felt great!


All the hot sun and running through the water park tired Emma out.
(She took a quick nap before dinner).
I guess the sun did not make my boy sleepy...

May Catch-Up

I took my monthly photo of Ethan for his scrapbook ("Watch Me Grow").

He is now 7 months old

and

weighs 24lbs 11oz

Emma and Ethan are almost identical in size at 7 months.

Emma was 24lbs 9oz

but

I use to weigh her in only a diaper.

I weigh Ethan in his clothes, so it is safe to say they are exactly the same size...

I told you they are clones!!

This overall outfit was from Ethan's Auntie Phyllis & Uncle Wayne.

When Ethan received it at birth, it looked so big.

Not so much anymore (size - 18 months).

All last week Emma came home with Mother's Day projects from school, so I thought they deserved to be taped to the fridge. I love the decorated hands, with "Lee Press-On Nails" and all!!

Although Dann was away for Mother's Day, we had a great time hanging out with my parents, who drove up for the weekend.

Auntie Claudia sent Emma this baking outfit from "Pampered Chef".
This was a good excuse to bake cookies... Raisin & Oatmeal.
Emma put all the ingredients in herself!!

Grandma & Ethan....

Ethan's gums have been so sore, he has been gnawing & sucking his thumb to ease the pain!
He has no teeth yet, but he does have a very chapped hand.
Ethan's hands got so bad I had to put socks on them after I rubbed them in with cream.
Ethan was not impressed (even though he is smiling in this photo).

Emma's soccer season started the first week of May.

It was freakin' cold the first night, so Emma insisted on wearing her pink hat along with her blue jacket (even soccer is a fashion show).

Lesson #1 - Tools

Dann decided it was time for Ethan to have his first lesson on tools.

The new "Princess Auto Parts" catalog arrived and Dann was reading it to Ethan, who seemed quite interested.

Even Emma wanted to be a part of things, which was very surprising, as her whole world revolves around "Princesses"

(I guess the catalog was from "Princess" Auto, maybe that's why she was interested... hahaha!).

Ethan likes to sit in his "Bum-Bo" chair and play at his activity table.
The things they have for babies now is amazing... very useful and helpful!

Kelowna Trip

Last week we made our way to Kelowna to visit Dann's sister & bro-in-law along with old friends, Jenny & B.

We made several stops along the way (travelling with a 6 month old and a 4 year old) but eventually, we arrived safe and sound!!

Emma was in seventh heaven with her Auntie Phyllis. Most of the time, Emma had Phyl's undivided attention, which made her so happy!

Emma helped make a lasagna with her Auntie... it tasted yummy!


Emma had no problem with Sydney this trip.
Emma liked spending time with Sydney, walking her and cuddling with her!

Ethan did not have much to do with Sydney, but he did use her bathtub (dog sink).

Our visit with Jenny & Branden was great.

Ethan loved Willa's toys and the girls played well together.

We had to remind Emma & Sarina to include Hazel a couple of times, but over all, they all got along!

We all went for a walk on the pathway which was nice.

In this photo the girls look like they have never been apart.

When I watched Emma & Sarina play it brought a tear to my eye because they grew up together (first 3 years) and now they only see each other once a year, if they are lucky.

Ethan enjoyed our play & picnic in the park.

He likes the swing (just like his big sister).

Our visit to the "Eco Centre" was very interesting. There was a water display and the girls enjoyed the water table.

Ethan was hanging out in the play cabin which had toys and books for the kids to use.

It was a great facility!!

We stopped by the beach for a little park time.

While we were there, Dann spotted some geese with their new babies.
