Easter Etc.

We coloured eggs last weekend and although we lost 3 (they cracked) the kiddies had fun!

The final product...

Ethan loves to where all the necessary safety equipment before playing with his tools.

A few weeks ago we met Brock, Jamie & the girls (friends of ours) in Edmonton for a weekend.

Edmonton would not be the same without a trip to West Ed & Galaxy Land.

Emma was so excited to see her friend Reese

(Taryn too).

And they loved posing for the camera.

Jamie & I left the kids with the boys and we went shopping.

The trade off was the boys went to the pub in the evening while we sat with the kids in the hotel.

Taryn has grown so fast... she is Ethan's first girlfriend.

During our visit, we also met up with Dann's buddy Jim & his daughter, Abbey.

We went to "Chucke Cheese" and the kids had a blast.

The food was crappy, but the games etc were a hoot.

Chucke had a little play area for toddlers too.

Ethan loved the slide and Clifford.

Emma looks so grown up... crazy how fast it happens.

High School Musical On Ice

Emma received a ticket to the "High School Musical On Ice" for her Birthday from her friend Kaley 

(Kaley's mom Anita really). 

I thought we should make a girl's afternoon out of it, so I got a ticket too.

Everything was WAY over priced at the show, but I found these High School Musical Cheerleading outfits at Walmart weeks before at a much more reasonable price.

The girls had a blast... singing and watching the skaters.

I am sure Emma will remember it for a long time 

(similar to the Doodlebops)!

Ethan enjoys his books and reading time.

Renos & Video Clips

Even though our house was only 2 years old when we moved in, it seems as though we are always changing something.

Dann got busy this past week painting our new nanny's bedroom.

Lori is set to arrive on February 21st, thus we thought a fresh new look was in order.

We kept the same paint color as the rest of the basement (bluff), but I thought I would add some bold girl wow power with the Carmel color walls.

I chose a bright pink silky comforter & curtains along with a flower pillow to accent.

We still have pictures to hang and I ordered some "Wall Talk" for the main wall - "Dream" along with it's definition.  Hopefully it will be in before Lori arrives.

My talented husband also made a cross out of wood for Lori's room.  It 's beautiful (no picture yet) and I know she will like it.

I hope Lori likes her new digs!

Ethan enjoys counting and seems to understand the concept well.  

The video on the left is of Ethan counting to 13.  When he gets to "11" he says "1", I guess they look the same to a two year old on paper.

His words may not be that clear, but to his Momma, they sound perfect!

The second video is of Ethan pretending he is a dog.  I remember Emma doing this at the same age.  She use to eat frozen peas out of a dish on the floor.  

Ethan is doing the same thing, but I think it's with crackers & no dish.

Just A Few More

Okay... one last photo of "the bike".

Dann likes this photo better than the one I posted.

I guess it does look nice with the sun in the back ground.

Too bad the sun wasn't a bit hotter (melt all the white stuff so he could go ride the darn thing).

Heck, he'll spend more time washing that bike this summer than he does is truck!

Time for ANOTHER hair cut Ethan!

Grandma Helen & Papa Harley got this scarf for Emma, but Ethan likes to wrap himself up with it too.  

Look at those pretty little eyes.

Emma was asked to be a flower girl at her cousin Krista's wedding this July.  She is excited and I was too (especially when I found this new dress on line for $25.88).

I scooped it up right away.

The little flowers/ribbons are attached with pins, so we will change the green ribbon to smoky grey (colour of the bridesmaid's dresses).

It is a very simple & elegant!

PERFECT!

It would appear we will have to work on Emma's pose position with her feet.  As you can see above & below, those feet are turned in.  

Emma went shopping with her X-Mas Gift Card from her Uncle Dean & Auntie Claudia (Chandler & Richelle too).

She purchased a "Hannah Montana" hoody & skirt/tights.

She has worn it everyday since Saturday...

January At A Glance

I finally got the camera working and was able to down load some photos.  

I get frustrated though, some photos down load to my blog sight fast, while others take forever or come back saying down load unsuccessful.  

Anyone out there in blogger world who can give me some advise on why some photos down load while others don't???

Here are some photos for the month, starting with the most recent!

Here is Dann's Christmas present, which he is in love with.  Santa (aka: Dann's over time cheque) was very kind with this little lady.  Dann cannot wait for the snow to melt!

Emma had a skating party at school yesterday and Ethan had to try on her helmet to make sure it was safe!

Dann was parenting this day... who says girls only enjoy dressing their kids?

I love my two "Super Boys"!!

While I was working, Dann took the kids out for a play in the snow (the temps finally got warmer).

I love this photo of the kids... our genetic pool seems to have complemented them well!

There is no doubt that these two kiddies are siblings, Ethan looks so much like Emma when she was two (minus the red hair).

Emma had two Birthday Parties this year.  The two photos below were at the gymnastics club with her school friends...

Emma collected an extra large rubber mate tote of food for the food bank at this party (instead of presents).  Emma was pretty proud of herself when she dropped off her Birthday donation at the food bank!!

Emma got this Birthday Ribbon at school from her teacher.

Ethan has a pop out book which came with animal masks.  He loves it when we all put them on and dance around!

Ethan is officially "Potty Trained".  It took about one week for it all to click in and we only use pull ups (night time underwear) for sleeping.  

He is darn proud of himself and so are we!

Here is one of the only photos I have of Christmas this past year (bad M-J).  We were all sick, so the camera did not seem to make an appearance as much as it should have.  

Oh well!

Mix 'n' Match

I have been behind the "8" Ball lately and days have ran into weeks.  I apologize for not keeping "up-to-date" with my blogs.

I do have an excuse though, our camera has not been downloading any of our new photos, so I don't have any new things to show you.

Dann bought himself an early X-mas gift (Trek Mt. Bike), but the photos won't down load, so I cannot show you that.  

Our Halloween photos & Ethan's 2nd Birthday won't download either... Ugghh!

We will have to figure it out before Christmas comes around.

While Dann & I were in NYC, Emma past the time colouring her puppy book I left for her.  She was very proud of her colouring abilities (so was Grandma).

While we were in Parksville, Dann pulled out the old John Deere tractor for Ethan.  Monika & Fritz bought it for their grand kids and Ethan thought he needed a crack at "the John" as well!

He was darn cute on it... 

Dann rigged up a pull strap cause he could not reach the peddles. 

We managed to download some of my mom's photos from her camera (go figure).

This was a storm that went through Lethbridge this past summer.

She took the snap shots from her back deck.

Needless to say there was a huge flood & hail damage!

Before we left for NYC the kids were playing with Grandma in the basement.

Ethan loves dressing up in Emma's stuff...

He'd make a pretty girl don't you think??  LOL!

Not sure if I posted this before, but here is Emma on her first day of Kindergarten.

And this is what outfit she picked out for her school photos (skirt & boots with a matching sweater).

Finally, here is a photo of Dann & Brock in Kelowna this past summer.  Brock transferred to Calgary this fall, which made us all sad.  

I believe Dann is taking it the hardest though as he has no one to watch extreme sports & drink rye with now (while I am at work)!!

I hope our paths cross again soon...
