Needle in a Hay Stack

Like many other little girls, when Emma is not busy watching princess movies or playing dollies, she is busy with her "Polly Pockets". Grandma Hein bought her a Walt Disney Little Mermade Polly and of course Ariel had to come to Costco with us. Emma held Ariel tight in hand until it was time for a fruit leather snack, then Ariel was placed gently (tossed aside) into the cart beside her. We proceeded to shop and pay for things. As we were leaving the store, Emma asks "Where is Ariel?"( like we were suppose to know)!! Well if you could have seen her face... heart breaking. Mom and Dad scattered like field mice, retracing their steps in the store. Yes, Dann and I were searching for a 2 inch rubber doll in the aisles & shelves of Costco. I am sure it would have been easier finding a needle in a hay stack. Needless to say, we were not successful. We thought about calling out our PDS (Police Dog Section) unit to help in the search, but did not know if that was fair to the tax payers, thus we went to customer service to check the lost and found instead. No luck there either... Ariel was gone for good!! Emma has moved on from her tragic event, but always wants to check the lost and found when we go to Costco. Truth be known, some little girl probably found Ariel abandoned in the aisle and thought it was her lucky day. I am sure Ariel found a good home with another "Little Princess".

That is the saddest story we have ever heard. "Poor, poor Emma" says Sarina, with an understanding, tragic expression on her face... "What will Emma do now??"

Calli wants to buy Emma a Belle Polly Pocket or a Cinderella Polly Pocket to replace the Ariel one she lost, for Emma's next birthday. Always thinking ahead, this girl!!
